OIL PRODUCTION ON FEDERAL LANDS DECREASED 11% LAST YEAR. Even though the President’s claiming credit for an increase, his administration has fought for just the opposite. They cancelled 77 federal land leases that would have been used for domestic exploration, they rescinded plans to explore in Colorado, Wyoming, and Utah, and they froze permitting for exploration in the Outer Continental Shelf (of which just 2.2% of the taxpayer-owned portion has been leased for production). Now there's a morsel of truth in the President's claim of increased production, but that new production has occurred on STATE-OWNED and PRIVATE LANDS where his Administration couldn’t stand in the way.

Where is the REWARD for the financially responsible who DIDN'T get caught up in the real estate racket, DIDN'T try to buy a house they couldn't afford, and continued to rent --- still unable to share in the American Dream of homeownership. I understand many fell victim to predatory lenders. However, it doesn't take a PHD in mathematics to understand that you can't afford a 300k home with a 30k income. I understood that. Will I be rewarded?

Why should just the homeowners get this? Are not the renters of America also tax payers deserving of good things like this? Why are you so happy to give selective individuals money so freely? I think you are simply fishing for votes rather than trying to come up with valid, viable solutions to create jobs and stimulate the economy... Why not give the savings to all valid, U.S. citizens, including those who have paid the price to enter our country legally and obey our laws?

Not every responsible homeowner wants to refiance. Our mortgage is already at a low 4.25 percent. Why would we pay to refinance our loan? I doubt we could save $3,000 a year when we are already at such a low rate. Consumers need to know the entire cost of refinancing their loans and not just be informed they will "save $3,000 a year by refinancing their mortgage." This depends upon a lot of factors. What is their current rate? What will their new rate become? How many points will it cost them for the finance? How long are they planning on staying in their home? If a short term, it normally does not justify the refiance. Consumers need to do their homework.

Would be nice to cut out so much red tap -- we have been trying to refinance our house, which is in good standing and and with the same loan company since September 2011 to get the lower rate and save money --- it has been a nightmare dealing with the title company, appraisers, and loan folks -- and each time something comes up, I am told it is my fault, not theirs.

If a homeowner wants to refinance their mortgage, there's nothing stopping them from doing so if they have good credit (in other words, IF they've been a responsible homeowner). We bought our new home in Feb 2007. We are so upside down that it is IMPOSSIBLE to refinance. Not even Wells Fargo could refi us last month. Thanks ALOT Affordable Social Democrats for the Affordable Social Housing mortgage foreclosure crisis housing BUST... George Bush tried to REGULATE the root cause of this BUST starting all the way back in 2001: April 2001: The Bush Administration's FY02 budget declares that the size of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac is "a potential problem," because "financial trouble of a large GSE could cause strong repercussions in financial markets, affecting Federally insured entities and economic activity." (2002 Budget Analytic Perspectives, pg. 142) September 2003: Then-House Financial Services Committee Ranking Member Barney Frank (D-MA) strongly disagrees with the Administration's assessment, saying "these two entities – Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac – are not facing any kind of financial crisis … The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing." (Stephen Labaton, "New Agency Proposed To Oversee Freddie Mac And Fannie Mae," The New York Times, 9/11/03) July 2005: Then-Minority Leader Harry Reid rejects legislation reforming GSEs, "while I favor improving oversight by our federal housing regulators to ensure safety and soundness, we cannot pass legislation that could limit Americans from owning homes and potentially harm our economy in the process." ("Dems Rip New Fannie Mae Regulatory Measure," United Press International, 7/28/05) August 2007: Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Chairman Christopher Dodd ignores the President's warnings and calls on him to "immediately reconsider his ill-advised" position. (Eric Dash, "Fannie Mae's Offer To Help Ease Credit Squeeze Is Rejected, As Critics Complain Of Opportunism," The New York Times, 8/11/07)

Well, that sounds good if your a home owner. But what if your a mobile home owner who happens to be upside down on the loan. The interest I already paid is worth more than the property its self. Ive already paid my initial loan off if It were'nt for the interest . And yet this bank wants more money. And they know hardly any established bank will touch a manufactured , mobile home loan. And they love the fact that Im stuck paying them another 30,000 k in interest. I dont feel like a home owner.

Thank you, Mr. President. But how about doing something for the retired & disabled, who have payed off their mortgages, but can not afford to fix them up. I see tax credits for having kids, never had them when my kids were young, lower payroll taxes on SS earnings, no help if you have paid for years, but now have no working income, if you are born after 1948 & worked as a public school teacher for years like my wife, she can't get her SS or mine when I am gone, but when she worked 2 jobs after retiring they still took SS out of her checks. Health insurance cost keep going up, but if your retired you are unable to keep up with the increases, along with gas & food. We really need some kind of help for retired & disabled. Thank You

Actually, the first step should be to learn what type of loan you have, as you know, there is a difference between an adjusted and a fixed rate. That's where the fraud began, and weenies like the people supporting Romney and Santorum, who by the way, from the looks of it, here in CA, are mostly Cuban and Puerto Rican, now why is that? Hmmmm, anyways, why are people that lived like kings for sooooo long, now on unemployment? Hmmmm. Geeez, since Im no rocket scientist, guess im too stupid to make any connections here.

If you really would like to do something for the homeowners,, make it illegal for the lenders to "hold" payments. Example: Financial experts say to reduce the amount of interest you are paying,, split your monthly mortgage payment in half, paying one half one payday and the other half on the second payday. This routine will give you one extra payment a year,, cutting off thousands in interest. HOWEVER, most lenders will not allow you to make half payments,, they either apply that half to the principal,, or they "HOLD" this money until the other half comes in. Holding this money is not applying it to the monthly amount due,, therefore it is not cutting off the interest.. WHY is this allowed? Think about the millions of people that they are "Holding" money for.... are they earning interest off of this? I am sure they are. Hit me up,, I'll tell you more.

It's called risk. If you bought a home and now it's worth less that's how the market works. I bought my home 30 years ago, stayed put and yes it's worth more than I paid. Not as much as it was 5 years ago. It's because I bought within my means (didn't allow the lender to talk me into something I couldn't afford). I knew my salary would probably increase over time but wanted to play it as safe as possible. It's these bailouts that are keeping the market unstable. The market has to work it's way out of this and the government needs to get out of it.

Standard Refinance Fee, Closing Costs, Points? Now add monthly, for the life of the Re-financed mortgage, the Payroll Tax Extension Fee. Put in place to pay for that "two month" Payroll Tax Extension. You remember... $20.00 extra bucks in everyone's pocket per week. Not going to SSI. Which SSI is still responsible to payout down the road. How about some full dis-closer on the WHBS page and at Presidential News CONferences. Honestly, whose being casual? Time and time again. Scott Trent it wasn't all the buyers fault the economy collapsed it was the banks that bound the mortgages together and sold them on the stock markets one two three four times each mortgage. While you keep spouting on and on about government regulating the people or aka borrowers you forget that the main cause is the fact that the banks and mortgage companies well deregulated so much that they could get away with plain old theft while conducting business as usual. So yes I can see if you could not afford to pay the mortgage then you should not of gotten the loans for the house...but it wasnt those not paying that wiped out america and the banking systems it was the banks them selves. Plain greed and the tax payers are paying for their greed daily in outrageous inflation costs and the point that all the money printed went into banks and have not left them to correct the housing problems of today but to continue to speculate in the markets at a high stakes poker game.To this day banks and mortgages companies have no clue who owns which mortgage. Just that the Fed will keep bailing them out which needs to stop, now.

It will channel billions of dollars a year in new credit into America's distressed communities." Q With regard to enforcement actions for an institution that's not applying for a merger, what specific enforcement actions might you envision being taken if it's in substantial noncompliance? MR. Nor should Government have this much POWER over we the people: Liberalism, as the political scientist Theodore Lowi put it, "is hostile to law," and has a preference for "policy without law." The Law itself doesn`t really matter so much as the process it sets in motion - or as Nancy Pelosi famously told the American people regarding health care, "We have to pass the bill so you can find out what`s in it." When Lowi was writing in the Seventies, he noted that both the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Consumer Product Safety Administration (CPSC) were set up by a Congress that didn`t identify a single policy goal for these agencies and "provided no standards whatsoever" for their conduct. So they made it up as they went along. Where do you go to vote out the CPSC or OSHA? Or any of the rest of the unaccountable acronyms drowning America in alphabet soup. For more and more Americans, law has been supplanted by "regulation" - a governing set of rules not legislated by representatives accountable to the people, but invented by an activist bureaucracy, much of which is well to the left of either political party. As the newspapers blandly reported in 2010, the bureausrats weren`t terribly bothered about whether Congress would pass a Cap and Trade mega bill into law because, if faint-hearted Dems lose their nerve, the EPA will just "raise" standards all by itself. Where do you go to vote out the EPA? Congress stripped provisions for end-of-life counseling (the so called death-panels) out of the ObamaCare bill, but Kathleen Sebelius, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, put`em back on her say so. And why shouldn`t she? As Philip Klein pointed out in the American Spectator, the new law contained 700 references to the Secretary "shall", another 200 to the Secretary "may", and 139 to the Secretary "determines." So the Secretary may and shall determine anything she pretty much wants. Plucked at random: The Secretary shall develope oral healthcare components that shall include tooth-level surveillance. "Tooth-level surveillance": from colonial subjects to dentured servants in a mere quarter-millennium. Where do you go to vote out "the Secretary"? And so "We the People" degenerates into "We the regulators, we the bureaucrats, we the permit-issuers, we the czars." Dancing with the czars is unrepublican. "Ignorantia juris non excusat" is one of the oldest concepts of civilized society: ignorance of the law is no excuse. Where do you go to vote out the Czars?

Who decides what "responsible" is? How does this help people who were affected by the housing crisis what Ron Paul warned everyone of? Who is going to pay for the costs of getting this done? the tax payer, the consumer, they are one in the same.

Lol As soon as I read 'No red tape and No run arounds' and 0bama I know its a lie! Ripping the lid off of Colorado’s Solyndra By Michelle Malkin • March 6, 2012 State-level conservative blogs and think tanks are doing the work the rest of the “mainstream media” won’t do on government big green boondoggles. Department of Energy loan scandal has been exposed. Paul Chesser at the NLPC summarized: Yet another solar company that received loan guarantees from the Department of Energy has dismissed factory workers, lopping off 70 percent of its U.S. employees. Loveland, Colo.-based Abound Solar announced Tuesday it would lay off 280 workers at its production plant near Longmont, leaving 120 still employed. The start-up (2009) company attributed the cutbacks to the need for upgrades at the plant to manufacture more efficient solar panels, with plans to restore production levels and rehire most employees within six to nine months. “Hopefully at the end of that time period we will bring people back,” said Steve Abely, Abound’s Chief Financial Officer, to the Boulder Daily Camera. DOE’s $400-million loan guarantee to Abound closed in December 2010, after President Obama delivered a weekly message a few months earlier hyping his jobs plan in a “clean energy economy,” in which he cited his plans for Abound[.] Energy Secretary Steven Chu was equally boastful about the Abound loan. “Pioneering projects like this are what will help the U.S. recapture the lead when it comes to supporting innovation in the global clean energy economy,” he said. “Not only is this investment creating thousands of jobs, but it is also increasing our renewable energy manufacturing capacity and putting us on the path for our future prosperity.” News Web site The Complete Colorado revealed “fingerprints” of a “pay-to-play agenda” when Abound received its conditional approval in September 2010. Wealthy philanthropist Pat Stryker, whose Bohemian Companies has significant investment in Abound, donated $475,599 to federal Democrat candidates and causes over the 2008 to 2012 election cycles, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. Included in that amount is $11,900 in maximum contributions to President Obama’s two campaigns for the White House. Stryker also was an $87,500 bundler for the president’s Inaugural Committee, the People’s Press Collective discovered, and donated $50,000 herself. The Sunlight Foundation reported that she gave $35,800 to the 2012 Obama Victory Fund. In October 2009 Stryker also visited a former assistant to the deputy chief of staff at the White House, Kristin Sheehy, who also hosted several visits from SEIU president Andy Stern. The purpose of Stryker’s visits is undisclosed. Stryker is known to have contributed millions of dollars to Democrat candidates for state and federal office in her lifetime. Among those are gifts to former U.S. Rep. Betsy Markey, whose district includes the Abound facility – $9,400 made up of max contributions for her 2008 and 2010 successful runs for office. Abound helped pay for ads in 2009 that thanked Markey for voting for the cap-and-trade bill that passed the House that year, which would have benefited renewable energy companies. And according to the Fort Collins Coloradoan, Markey also pushed for approval of the loan guarantee for Abound. “Without the loan guarantees, they would not be able to really move forward on this project,” Markey told the newspaper. “It’s seed money that’s going to be fully paid back by Abound.” In a fresh exclusive, Complete Colorado has obtained new documents showing “that Abound Solar created an unexpected, and previously unreported 10 day production shutdown over the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, and then went on to tell employees, Don’t let the rumor mill create false purposes for this shutdown.’ The shutdown was announced to employees just after Thanksgiving by company president Craig Witsoe.”

I support President Obama 100%. He is trying his best to help out the American people, but he has a hard time getting anything done because the dumb republicans are busy trying to take the focus off the real issues by sidetracking our attention to nonsense that was resolved years ago. The reality is that Republicans don't have any intention of improving the lives of Americans, they just want to keep destroying our country. Just put a stop to all the greedy banks and investors. Get rid of the stock market all together and you will get rid of all our problems. If we stop gambling on our money, we won't risk loosing any of it. I'm 100% pro-choice. If I choose not to have a baby, then I should be able to take birth control to prevent it. If I accidentally get pregnant and don't want a baby, I should be able to have an abortion. Who are you people to say what I can and can't do with my body??? If you don't think it's right, good for you. Don't take birth control and have a million babies that you can't support. Go for it. The same men who are so called Pro-life are the same ones that don't care about what their wife might go through or suffer as long as she does what she's told. They are the kind of selfish men that think that they are doing their part by working, and won't life a finger to help with the chores or with the kids at home. They are the same ones that will be at the bar with their buddies picking up on prostitutes while the wife and kids are at home. Yes, keep it up. Watch your babies get sick and die because you have to many mouths to feed and can't afford to take them to the hospital. Then when deceases start spreading because lack of basic medical care because you don't believe that everyone in this country should have healthcare, then you be the one to look at your kids in the face and tell them that death and suffering is part of life and that they should just accept it. What's wrong with only wanting to have a couple of kids and be able to give them all the love and suppor they need? Why does everyone have to have a house full of kids that they can't keep up with, can't take care of, aren't able to provide for and really don't want? If you want to have a ton of kids, be my guest. IF you can afford it, more power to you. If you can accept death as easily as you can life, then you are doing a good job. But really, keep it to yourself and don't think that its okay for YOU who doesn't pay my bills, or even know me, try to tell me what to do with my own life. You worry about yourself and leave everyone else alone!
